Maggie and Olive Are Just Friends

Olive Pfeiffer has known from a young age that love has to be earned, so she tries to be the perfect girlfriend. Attentive, adoring, loyal. Prepared to fall hard and fast for everyone she meets on Carabiner, a popular queer dating app. Like her latest girlfriend …

Who she's just walked in on with another woman.

Maggie Seymour prefers to keep her lovers at arm's length. So it's for the best that, after matching on Carabiner four years ago and going on one perfect first date, Olive announced that she and Maggie were better off as friends. Now, it's Maggie's duty as Olive's best friend in the world to help her heal from a bad breakup—and Maggie has a plan. She's about to embark on a road trip from New York to California, and she insists that Olive join her, proposing that they each find a Carabiner match in every city they pass through. Date by date, Olive will learn how to guard her heart, just like Maggie has.

Never mind that Maggie has spent four years trying to convince herself it's fine that Olive will fall in love with anybody but her.
