The society of people who listen

The Weekly Ledger

Audible publishes what is on a chart today. It does not publish what climbed to get there, and neither does anybody else — so this site writes the charts down every morning and reads its own notes back. Once a week, the interesting half of those notes goes out as an email.

What is in it

What climbed the furthest, what entered a chart it had never been on, and what has now gone from every chart it was on. Each one with the reading it is drawn from: where it stood, where it stands, and on which day each of those was observed.

What is not

No offers, no sponsored titles, no “recommended for you”. Every link in the mail goes to a page on this site rather than to a shop — partly because a book’s page here carries all three storefronts and the mail would have had to pick one, and partly because affiliate links in email are against the rules of the programme that pays for this site. The shop is still one click further on, and it is still your choice which.

What it costs you

An address, confirmed once so that nobody can put you on a list you did not ask for. It is never sold, never shared, and is deleted the moment you leave — there is no suppression list here. If you also have an account, deleting the account takes the subscription with it.
