Mother of the Bride

Sleeping with the bride's mother was never part of the plan.

Ines has one job: make it through her daughter’s island wedding without letting anyone see how thoroughly her old life is coming apart.

Joss has a job too. She is the carpenter who keeps Wilding House standing, the close friend who fixes every last-minute disaster, and the woman determined never again to be someone’s experiment—or secret. Sharing a half-restored gardener’s cottage with the elegant, newly separated mother of the bride was never part of the plan. Neither was the fact that the cottage does not yet have doors.

Between rain-soaked preparations, midnight repairs, and a family determined to make the week unforgettable, attraction becomes impossible to ignore. Ines has spent a lifetime being useful, careful, and unquestionably straight. Joss has spent hers leaving before anyone can decide not to choose her. A wedding may be the perfect place to believe in new beginnings, but desire is easy compared with saying the truth aloud.

Mother of the Bride is a sapphic age-gap romance about a later-in-life awakening, the families we risk disappointing, and the courage it takes to ask for a love that can stay.
