Post Magical Journey Syndrome: A Psychological Fantasy

They were hardened warriors and heroes in paranormal realms, but back home . . . they need therapy.

For thirty-four years, Reed Hastings defended the kingdom of Relundia as an honored knight—before returning to his fifteen-year-old body and high school existence. College student Mel Beck once wielded powerful enchantments while reigning as the Fairy Queen. Nine-to-five corporate drone Bob Billib was trapped in the mirrorverse while an evil doppelgänger ruined his life. Andi Hanzle endured a time loop for countless millennia. All of them are traumatized, suffering from Post Magical Journey Syndrome.

Fortunately, Dr. Harold Wilcox's Wayward Wanderers is a support group that can help return them to the safe, sane, and utterly dull "real world" of earning money, running errands, and paying bills. Unfortunately, near-invisible supernatural shimmerlings have appeared from realms unknown, drawn to the magical energy still inside them and attacking without warning.

Now the Wanderers must channel and combine their otherworldly skills to protect one another from these interdimensional invaders—and help a mysterious figure known as Odarah regain her memories to complete her mission, before it's too late . . .

In the first installment of this darkly comedic fantasy, the bestselling author of the Super Powereds and Fred the Vampire Accountant series explores an oft-overlooked aspect of adventuring in a tale that flips the fantasy genre on its head and back again. Narrated in duet style.
