The Horus Heresy: Novella Collection 8

A Horus Heresy Collection

The Horus Heresy is a civil war on a scale the likes of which the galaxy has never seen before. After the Great Crusade united the disparate worlds of humanity, the very warriors who made it possible turned on each other and tore it apart. This war was not only fought on a galactic scale – it was contested a million times over in brutal battles between former brothers and allies.

As the Horus Heresy heads towards its final chapters, the Legions race to play their part in the fighting. This collection focuses on the primarchs, cultures, and philosophies of the Salamanders, Dark Angels, and Ultramarines – and gives you a view into what makes each Legion unique.

THE STORY

Sons of the Forge sees Forgefather T'kell of the Salamanders charged with a solemn duty by the primarch himself. Along with a chosen few of the Legion's elite Firedrakes, he must bear the last seven of Vulkan's greatest weapons away to the secret vault known as the Wrought, placing them forever beyond the reach of treacherous enemy and well-intentioned ally alike. But word has already spread of these legendary artefacts, and there are many who would see T'kell's endeavour fail for their own gain – the Salamanders must remain true, no matter what horrors they might face…

With the Ruinstorm broken and the forces of Guilliman and Sanguinius making all haste for Terra, Dreadwing follows the Dark Angels as they lead a bloody campaign of annihilation against the worlds of the Traitor Legions. But as the Legion fragments and the tally of shattered worlds between them and Terra grows, it falls to the Wing lieutenants to question whether the Lion still wages a war he intends to win – or one he has already lost.

The Siege of Terra looms, and the fate of the galaxy balances on a razor's edge. Spear of Ultramar joins Roboute Guilliman as he leads the immense fleet of the Ultramarines in a race towards the Throneworld – such is the power he commands that he could turn the tide of the war in the loyalists' favour. As determined as Guilliman is to reach Terra, Horus is as resolute in delaying his brother primarch until it is too late. Guilliman's path through the Ruinstorm crosses through the Charchera system, and here, Warsmith Khrossus and a lone company of Iron Warriors have been given a fateful mission. At all costs, they must hold back the Ultramarines. Guilliman foresees the coming ambush, but he has no choice but to plunge into it, and so begins a desperate struggle where the passage of every second could mark the difference between survival and extinction for the Imperium.
