Forged by Fire

Every man faces the fire. What matters is what he lets God do with it.

A blacksmith doesn’t fear the fire. He knows raw iron can’t become anything useful until it has been heated and hammered into shape. God works the same way with men.

In these pages, twenty-four men tell true accounts of how the fire nearly broke them: cancer at 16, addiction, the death of a child, a marriage falling apart, a violent childhood, and years of hiding sin in secret. These aren’t stories about tough guys who pulled themselves together; they are reports by authentic men who allowed themselves to be formed by a faithful God.

If you are in a fire right now, or you know a man who is, these stories will remind you that God is working in you. And He isn’t forging you just for your sake: Our families, churches, and communities need men who have been through the fire and came out standing on the truth. This is our moment.
