Running for Freedom

Cyrus

I've been a private eye long enough to know better than to ask questions. Someone needs finding, I find them. Simple.

The Vos crime family hired me to find their missing son. I found him. Then I found out what they wanted him for, and I made the mistake of caring.

I've spent fifteen years keeping my wolf buried and my past locked down. The last thing I needed was a fox shifter with a talent for getting under my skin and a sister willing to kill to get him back.

Zeke

I know what I am to my family. A bastard son, a loose end, something to be used. I've been running since I was old enough to understand what that meant.

The private detective who showed up at my club was supposed to be another threat. Then he switched sides. Now we're both running, and somewhere between the gunfire and the secrets we're trading in the dark, I stopped wanting to keep my distance.

Cyrus thinks he's protecting me. He hasn't figured out yet that I'm the one keeping him from disappearing back into whatever hole he crawled out of.
