Soothing Bedtime Stories for Hyper and Adhd Kids

Your child is tired, but their energy hasn’t gotten the message.

For little ones who find it hard to leave playtime behind, bedtime can feel like one more difficult transition. Share a quieter moment with Zippy, a little red race car who loves to go fast but needs help learning how to rest.

In The Little Race Car That Learned to Idle, Zippy’s wheels want to keep moving long after the day is over. When he meets Rusty, a patient old tractor with a cozy garage, he discovers that slowing down can happen one gentle step at a time.

Written for children ages 4 to 6, this comforting story unfolds across four short chapters, inviting young listeners to notice what helps their bodies settle, take easy breaths, relax, and imagine a warm, reassuring glow.

Along the way, children will experience:

• A lovable character who understands what it feels like to be tired while still full of energy

• Gentle breathing and relaxation invitations woven naturally into the story

• A simple calming sequence families can return to during their evening routine

• Reassurance that little wiggles are welcome and resting does not require being perfectly still

• A helpful note for parents with ideas for sharing the story comfortably

Zippy doesn’t have to stop being a race car to enjoy a quiet moment. And your child doesn’t have to get everything right to feel supported at bedtime.

Snuggle close, settle in, and let Zippy’s journey become a familiar and comforting part of your evening together.
